Regional Executive Roles - Express an Interest

Indirectly elected Regional Party Officers

The following roles are elected ‘by and from’ the Executive Committee. Therefore, if someone would like one of these roles and are not already a member of the 2025/26 Executive, they will first need to be co-opted by that Executive. This will take place at its first meeting.

The roles all have a 2 year term: 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2026.

The Roles are as follows:

2 x Vice Chair

  • Deputise for the Chair, as necessary.
  • One of the Vice-Chairs will chair the Local Parties Committee.
  • Undertake discrete projects.
  • Other matters, from time to time.

Secretary

  • Maintain information about the operation of the Regional party, including records of meetings and decisions made
  • Prepare meeting documentation for Regional Executive meetings, in collaboration with the Regional Party Chair
  • Organise venues and dates for Regional Executive meetings
  • Maintain and advise on the Regional Party constitution

Chair of the Regional Conference Committee:

  • Chair the Region’s Conference Committee which has responsibility for organising the Regional Conference, and jointly with the Secretary maintaining a record of its proceedings and decisions.

Chair Policy Officer of the Regional Policy Committee:

  • Chair the Regional Policy Committee Together which has responsibility for the development of Regional Party policy and for promoting the involvement of members of the Regional Party in the development of Party policy.
